That little option opens up a whole world of digital art creativity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(Open on any screenshot in a new tab or window for a 100% view.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1452\" height=\"989\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02ts.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02ts.jpg 1452w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/02ts-768x523.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1452px) 100vw, 1452px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After you click on the Impression filter, you will see relevant options as follows: STROKE (brush types followed by many separate settings controlling how the brushes and paint work together), COLOR (HSL settings), LIGHTING (Brightness\/Contrast\/Highlight\/Shadow\/Light position and Vignette, TEXTURE (Strength and a large selection of texture types and finally PRESETS to get you started quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here I am using a preset called Oil Pastel for the promised 1-click immediate results. That was easy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1452\" height=\"989\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03ts.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03ts.jpg 1452w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/03ts-768x523.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1452px) 100vw, 1452px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;d like a little more control (since single-clicking is not strenuous&#8230;), go back to the Impression layer at upper right and choose <strong>STROKE<\/strong> to reveal the various brushes. Here I added the &#8220;Midnight Lake&#8221; Look to my art layer to change the mood to be more night owl-appropriate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1475\" height=\"988\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/08ts.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2644\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/08ts.jpg 1475w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/08ts-768x514.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1475px) 100vw, 1475px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Each Look layer is also fully editable! Here is &#8220;Breaking Through&#8221; as applied to art effects already added to my 1985 photo of these German wine bottles. I colorized\/enlarged it and gave it the Impression treatment, manually adjusting sliders until I got this result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1212\" height=\"990\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/11ts.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2653\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/11ts.jpg 1212w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/11ts-768x627.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1212px) 100vw, 1212px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When doing &#8220;artsy&#8221;, the quality of the source photo is not of primary importance, since the art effect will &#8220;smush things around&#8221; and &#8220;cover a multitude of sins&#8221;.
