Subscribe at right to be notified every time there is Topaz news or a special sale, in which case you get a <strong>double discount<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, as always, I dive into some of the most challenging images I can find in my stash so we can see what each particular software title is capable of in terms of restoration and improvement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First up, this early-&#8217;90s 35mm film-based photo, shot through a dirty airliner window during takeoff. You can see how <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.topazlabs.com\/denoise-ai\/ref\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DeNoise AI<\/strong><\/a> offers complete removal of the hideous colored grain as well as an overall cleaning up of the various objects in the before-and-after screenshot (<em>open all images in a new tab or window to view at 100%<\/em>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1010\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseairport.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2688\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseairport.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseairport-768x404.jpg 768w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseairport-1536x808.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The next image is another poor-quality plane takeoff shot, taken with one of those plastic Kodak panoramic throwaway cameras that were popular 25 years ago. Same as before, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.topazlabs.com\/denoise-ai\/ref\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DeNoise AI<\/strong><\/a> removed the grain and cleared up the details, such as they could be captured with a cheap plastic lens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1005\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseplane.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2689\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseplane.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseplane-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseplane-1536x804.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For the final example, here is an even older (1985) 35mm shot taken in Europe on slide film. While not taken through a window from a large flying object (I was on a boat actually!), it was still soft and noisy. <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.topazlabs.com\/denoise-ai\/ref\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\">DeNoise AI<\/a><\/strong> did a great job of wiping out the grain while restoring the fine architectural details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1010\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseeurope.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2691\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseeurope.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseeurope-768x404.jpg 768w, https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/denoiseeurope-1536x808.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For these examples I found the <strong>AI Clear setting<\/strong> worked best \u2013 I also use the AI Clear Filter in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/topazlabs.com\/studio\/ref\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Topaz Studio 2<\/a><\/strong> all the time \u2013 but you still have two other editable options as needed for your particular images (DeNoise AI and Low Light).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take some time and revisit your older, perhaps rejected images and see what <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.topazlabs.com\/denoise-ai\/ref\/5\/\" target=\"_blank\">DeNoise AI<\/a><\/strong> can do for them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that <em>every Topaz app is discounted 15%<\/em> by using the link and coupon code found on the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/discounts.html\" target=\"_blank\">Plugs &#8216;n Pixels Discounts page<\/a><\/strong>.
