Photo RAW 2025<\/a><\/strong> really shines when it comes to creative enhancements. Here are a couple examples I just did using two of my boring 1990s scenics (from 35mm negative scans). The first is a water scene somewhere between Seattle and Vancouver Island. The original, reduced:<\/p>\n\n\n

Not horrible, a peaceful sunset, a bit grainy. Once loaded into Photo RAW, for the sake of illustration I went to town on the Presets and Effects filters, with the main change being a sky replacement (a favorite feature of mine in this app because many of my old photos really need this):<\/p>\n\n\n

This is a dull, overcast view of the Mississippi River near Vicksburg:<\/p>\n\n\n

Rather than go for the over-bright reinterpretation of the first image, for this image I chose a more subdued vibe, in keeping with the Civil War history of this area. Again, I began with noise reduction and a sky replacement before trying different presets:<\/p>\n\n\n

With so many effects on hand it’s hard not to leave well enough alone, so I kept going with additional manually-adjusted filters, as shown in the Effects list:<\/p>\n\n\n
