Digital artists, mainly in the entertainment and advertising industries, use\u00a0high-end software to create environments that either do not exist or are too difficult to capture traditionally.<\/p>\n<p>My friends at <strong>New World Digital Art<\/strong> run a yearly contest for users of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/planetside.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planetside&#8217;s Terragen<\/a><\/strong>, and Plugs &#8216;N Pixels is one of the sponsors. The winners of the current contest (&#8220;Cliff&#8221;) were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwdastore.com\/theme-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just posted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_587\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-587\" class=\"size-full wp-image-587\" src=\"https:\/\/plugsandpixels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/cliff.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"785\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-587\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">1st Place: Mick Hazelgrove<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The rules for this purist challenge were: &#8220;Using only Terragen functionality, contestants were to create a Cliff View of their choosing with the highest level of Photo-realism as their goal.\u00a0No 3rd party Terrain or displacement generators were permitted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Check out the larger views of all of the final renders at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwdastore.com\/theme-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NWDA&#8217;s website<\/a>, and prepare to be amazed at what can be done with <a href=\"http:\/\/planetside.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Terragen<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><em>Thanks for reading!
