Real-world practical example using Topaz Gigapixel AI

I hope by now you have tried Topaz Gigapixel AI on your own sharpness- or resolution-challenged photos. It’s one of the most cutting-edge post-processing apps currently available, and is well on its way to rendering all other interpolation-type software obsolete.

In my previous blog posts (such as this one) you’ve seen me demonstrate Gigapixel on a pixel-peeping level, where the quality of the image upsizing was either there or it wasn’t – you can’t hide anything on-screen at 100%. And the quality was there!

In this post I want to show you an example of using Gigapixel for a real-world, practical purpose.

Note: For existing customers, the recent Gigapixel 4 update is FREE (as are ALL of Topaz’s updates). For new users, there is an unadvertised ADDITIONAL 15% discount on Gigapixel as well as any other Topaz product by using our coupon code at checkout.

The Topaz AI Bundle is also currently on sale (double-discounted).

A digital artist I know recently opened a Redbubble store to offer her fun creations to the public:

Her works are created on an iPad using Procreate:

Here’s the catch: The larger the canvas size in Procreate, the fewer layers you can use, depending on your hardware.

When working with her desired number of layers (sometimes up to 9), the final result was out of necessity a bit smaller than what Redbubble recommends for its larger printed items. Rather than limit her creativity with fewer layers or restrict the type of items she could offer, the obvious solution was to test Gigapixel and see if it could come to the rescue!

Of course we will have to pixel peep the results…! Below, the original artwork is shown at left, with the 195% enlargement at right (viewed at 100%; open each image in a new tab to examine at full size):

She could have easily gone beyond the nearly 2X upsizing (Gigapixel offers up to 6X), but this was sufficient to meet the requirements. Sharpness was not only retained, but improved:

You’ll note that Gigapixel preserved the PNG transparency of each of the images upon output, which was very important in this case:

Check out the Redbubble online store if you’re looking for some really cute decor and gift items!
